Can Prince Harry’s ‘unfortunately’ scheduled tour announcement overshadow Prince William’s engagement in Brazil?
Prince Harry announces trip to Canada which happens ‘to coincide with his brother’s engagements’
Prince Harry will be travelling to Canada for a couple of engagements related to Remembrance Day, the Sussex camp announced on November 3.
According to PEOPLE, “Remembrance is the British equivalent of Veteran’s Day in the US and a solemn occasion that members of the British royal family have commemorated for generations.”
Harry, who famously served in the British military and greatly regards his time during it, will meet veterans, current serving members of the armed forces, and military welfare institutions in Toronto on Wednesday. However, the most intriguing part of this trip may be the fact that its timing coincides with his elder brother, Prince William’s significant engagement in Brazil.
The Telegraph has reported, “Harry’s spokesman confirmed that in a new era of improved communication with the Royal household, Buckingham Palace had been ‘consulted’ and made aware of his plans in advance ‘as a matter of courtesy’.”
Though it is crucial to note that the Sussex team is not in contact with Kensington Palace and insisted that “they knew nothing of the details or timings of Prince William’s visit to Brazil” as the Duke’s trip was planned “nearly a year ago”.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is scheduled to complete appointments “in support of the Canadian armed forces and veteran community”, while he will further attend an intimate lunch arranged by True Patriot Love, a foundation for the Canadian Armed Forces. Prince William on the other hand will attend the 2025 Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil the same day as his younger brother’s tour of Canada is expected to begin, November 5.
