Satya Nadella has some advice for Sam Altman — and it’s not about AI
Microsoft CEO has shared touching piece of advice for Sam Altman, and tech fans can’t stop talking about it
In a rare moment, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has shared a touching piece of advice for OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and tech fans can’t stop talking about it.
During a Halloween special podcast with investor Brad Gerstner, Nadella reflected on fatherhood while teasing ChatGPT founder, who recently welcomed a baby.
“I told Sam, just enjoy it. It’s so awesome. We had our children so young, and I wish I could redo it,” Nadella said, smiling. “It’s the most precious time, watching them grow is just wonderful.”
The Microsoft chief also revealed that Altman can’t help but light up whenever he mentions his child, or when he’s talking about AI, of course.
“There’s always a smile on Sam’s face when he talks about his baby, and when he’s talking about compute,” Nadella joked.
Altman, visibly touched, admitted he’s learning to balance sleepless nights with the thrill of fatherhood.
“I do wish I had the energy I had when I was younger,” he said, describing parenthood as a “transformative experience,” one that rivals even the excitement of building artificial intelligence (AI).
The unexpected exchange has since gone viral, with fans praising Nadella’s sincerity and sense of humour.
