Royal fans react as Prince William takes a tumble during volleyball
Prince William joins a friendly game of volleyball
Prince William’s first day in Brazil took a rather unexpected turn when he slipped and fell while playing volleyball barefoot, leaving the crowd in shock.
Ending his day in Rio de Janeiro’s popular Copacabana Beach, the 43-year-old Prince of Wales connected with emergency responders and young people working on safety and eco-friendly activities.
This engagement served as the last stop on a busy day of many royal duties in Brazil, tied to his South American tour focused on the Earthshot Prize and environmental efforts.
Before wrapping up the visit, the Future King jumped into a friendly volleyball game with young players from Levante Institute, established by Brazilian Olympian Carolina Solberg.
His participation earned him praise from onlookers as they cheered from the spectators lining Copacabana’s promenade, while the Prince took part in the match with the players and coaches.
But at one moment, William attempted to reach for a shot but ended up stumbling in the sand. He used his hand to steady himself.
However, he didn’t let this one moment discourage him as he carried on with them game as if nothing had happened.
