TikTok to host its first-ever US awards show on THIS date

TikTok is officially stepping into Hollywood’s spotlight. The short-form video platform has announced that it will host its first-ever US awards show on December 18 at the Hollywood Palladium, marking a major move into the entertainment world.

The event will celebrate the platform’s biggest stars across categories like "Creator of the Year," "Video of the Year," "Breakthrough Artist of the Year," and "Muse of the Year."

According to the company, the event will feature live performances, a red carpet, and an audience packed with creators, with the show livestreamed on both TikTok and Tubi.

Fans will also have the chance to vote for their favourite creators, starting November 18 via a special TikTok portal.

Notably, nominees for Creator of the Year include adamw, alixearle, brookemonk_, keith_lee125, and kristy.sarah, while Breakthrough Artist of the Year contenders include alexwarren, laufey, and ravynlenae.

Though this is TikTok’s first US-based awards show, the platform has hosted similar events in Germany, Mexico, and South Korea, proving its growing cultural influence across the globe.

TikTok has also described the show as a tribute to the “creators defining this new era of culture, from fashion and beauty to sports and film.” 

The development comes days after China has officially approved the long-delayed transfer agreement for TikTok, paving the way for the app’s sale to a consortium of US and global investors.
