Ryan Reynolds takes on villainous role in upcoming Netflix movie
Ryan Reynolds is also set to star in ‘Animal Friends’
Ryan Reynolds is set to play the villain in new project of Netflix.
As reported by PEOPLE, the 49-year-old actor has been cast as antagonist in the giant streamer's upcoming live-action adaptation of the 1950s children's series Eloise.
Interestingly, the Deadpool & Wolverine performer is also a producer on the new children's book adaptation.
Newcomer Mae Schenk will star in the movie's lead role opposite the A-list actor.
The forth-coming movie adaption will be directed by Gilmore Girls creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino.
Moreover, she will also co-write the script with Hannah Marks and Linda Woolverton.
Filming for the Eloise movie is scheduled to begin this month, according to the streaming giant.
The plot of the movie has not been disclosed, however, the original novels follow Eloise, a young girl who lives at the top of New York City's Plaza Hotel.
The book features a variety of characters in the girl's life which includes her nanny, her pet pug Weenie and a pet turtle named Skipperdee.
Aside from Ryan Reynolds, who is also set to star in Animal Friends, and Mae Schenk, no other casting announcements have been made.
Netflix's adaptation of Eloise does not yet have a release date.
