Robert Pattinson has the Hollywood formula down — the actor, now 39, continues to disappear and reinvent his career over sporadic periods of time.

Breaking onto the scene with roles in blockbuster franchises like Harry Potter and Twilight, the English performer soon sought the indie film scene, gradually building his profile by working with established filmmakers like David Cronenberg and Claire Denis right alongside his appearances in mainstream projects.

It is a strategy which Pattinson has perfected by this point — taking considerable time off between consecutive film appearances, and retiring from the public eye enough to let dedicated audiences eagerly anticipate his return, never going out of style.

This year, the current Batman player returned to the big screen with the Bong Joon Ho-directed Mickey 17. With the “Pattinsonaissance” back in full swing, the blockbuster-and-independent cocktail that is Robert Pattinson’s work is upon us once again.
