Godfather of AI’s shocking prediction about Elon Musk has everyone talking

Geoffrey Hinton, also known as the“Godfather of AI,” has issued a stark warning about the Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The Nobel laureate believes the explosive growth of artificial intelligence (AI) will make billionaires like Musk even richer, while millions of workers around the world could lose their jobs.

Speaking on Bloomberg’s Wall Street Week, Hinton said the global economy is heading toward a wave of AI-driven job cuts that will “massively replace human labour,” as corporations chase record profits.

“To make money, you’re going to have to replace human labour,” he said bluntly.

His warning comes as major companies including Amazon, Meta, Google, IBM, and TCS have already started trimming their workforces, citing “AI efficiency” as a reason.

Bloomberg also reported that Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and Meta are projected to spend over $420 billion on AI-related capital next year.

Hinton argued that this transformation will primarily benefit a small group of ultra-wealthy tech moguls.

“People like Musk will get richer, while many others lose their jobs, and he won’t care,” he added, calling the crisis “not an AI problem, but a societal one.”

However, Hinton isn’t pushing for a ban on AI. Instead, he insists that society must be restructured to ensure AI’s benefits are shared, rather than creating a future where machines make billionaires richer and leave workers behind.
