Why 'Stranger Things' fans believe Steve Harrington won’t die in final season
'Stranger Things' is set to release on November 26
As the thrilling season finale of Stranger Things approaches, fans’ anticipation is high and so is the fear that some fan-favourite characters won’t be making it out alive.
After the creators, the Duffer Brothers, hinted at a "violent" ending, fans are now convinced they know who won’t survive in the upcoming fifth season.
At first, many believed it to be the iconic and much beloved character Steve Harrington, played by Joe Keery, as he barely got screentime in the trailer for the finale. However, now fans have new theories.
Which fan-favourite character is most likely to die in Stranger Things season five?
Although Steve feels like the perfect hero to make the ultimate sacrifice, and losing him will be a devastating blow to fans, the Duffer Brothers confirmed the teaser included scenes from all eight episodes making it much more difficult to note who is likely to meet their end.
While the teaser suggests that Steve could be in danger, some fans think that this is just a misdirection.
Fans have taken to Reddit with their discussions and theories about which character is likely not to survive in the finale.
They are now convinced that none of the younger characters will be harmed, but the fates of the adults on the show don't look so promising.
"The deaths will be: none of the main characters from the last 5 seasons," a Reddit user theorised. "Either Karen or Ted (both would be CRAZY!) Murray and a handful of new to this season's side characters…"
Another piled on, saying, "I honestly think both Wheeler parents are just gonna wind up seriously injured…"
"I can see Murray dying in the most bad*** way possible tho, like locking himself in with all the Demodogs and demibats and just setting the whole thing on fire," another penned.
What are the other fan theories?
Another theory claims Eleven managed to survive, but is dragged into the Upside Down, leaving her fate uncertain.
However, another popular theory that fans are floating on the social media platform is that Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, may experience a "fake death" similar to the ending of season one.
"I think they have a surprise ending in store for Eleven and that they will maybe do a fake death," wrote one fan.
It is pertinent to note that these are just theories and the truth will come on November 26, followed by the remaining two parts on 25th December, and the finale will be here on 31st December.
