1. Tom Hiddleston in Centrum ad

The Loki actor starred in a Chinese Centrum vitamins ad, back in 2018.

Hiddleston played the role of a loving husband, cooking breakfast, and speaking in Mandarin.

The ad was specifically targeted at Chinese women aged around 40.

2. Hilary Swank at Ramzan Kadyrov’s party

In 2011, Swank was paid to attend a "city day" celebration for Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic, and known for his links to numerous human rights violations and suspicious deaths,

At the event, the Million Dollar Baby actress also gave a positive speech at the event in which she acknowledged that "city day" is also Kadyrov's birthday, adding that she knew this to be the case because "I read. I do my research."

After receiving major criticism for being paid to attend the Chechen event, Swank apologised to The Tonight Show, fired her CAA manager, and donated her appearance fee to charity to rectify what she did.

3. Hugh Jackman as clown

On The Howard Stern Show, Jackman revealed he used his many talents to make money as a birthday clown before he found success as an actor.

"[I was] good up until the age of 3," Jackman said, adding, "You could climb on my head. I could juggle three things. I could juggle kind of anything. ... But nothing more."

According to him, was realistic about the job's requirements and did not use balloon animals, or any magic tricks.

Jackman recalled the last clowning gig he had was a party for an 8-year-old.

According to the Song Sung Blue star, the kid was so unenthused about his clown act that the only way for Jackman to satisfy his audience was to allow the children to throw eggs at him and physically beat him for over 10 minutes.

4. Jennifer Lopez’s performance for Turkmenistan dictator

In 2013, J-Lo performed for the dictator of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, at his birthday celebration.

The singer-actress performed despite the country's reputation for being "one of the world's most repressive countries".

5. John Cena a Crocs spokesperson
