Prince William leads Earthshot Prize featuring Shawn Mendes, Kylie Minogue

The annual Earthshot Prize got a star-powered start as Prince William greeted celebrities like Shawn Mendes and Kylie Minogue on November 5, 2025.

The 43-year-old Prince of Wales marked the fifth year of his environmental awards show at Rio’s Museum of Tomorrow in Brazil.

Looking dapper in a sharp Tom Ford tux, he stepped foot on the green carpet with the Canadian singer as well as the Australian singer, who previously performed at his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s 92nd birthday concert in 2018.

William also extended his welcome to Brazilian singers Seu Jorge and Anitta.

The event also drew world leaders, investors and entrepreneurs, who gathered to celebrate innovations and breakthroughs like microplastics filters and skyscrapers built entirely from upcycled materials.

Launched back in 2020, the program spotlighted innovators in five key areas, from restoring nature, cleaning air, reviving our oceans and fixing our climate.

The event is hosted in a new country every year, with past ceremonies held in Boston, London, Singapore and Cape Town, South Africa.
