Prince Harry overshadows William’s Earthshot Prize with his Canada trip?

Prince Harry’s trip to Canada has overlapped with his brother Prince William’s royal engagements in Brazil, marking yet another clash between the estranged brothers.

The 41-year-old Duke of Sussex connected with Canadian Reserve Forces in Toronto, meeting troops from two of the country’s most distinguished Army Reserve units.

While his brother, the Prince of Wales welcomed celebrities like Shawn Mendes and Kylie Minogue during the annual Earthshot Prize, Harry engaged with members of the Queen’s Own Rifles and the Royal Regiments of Canada, exploring how reserve forces strengthen the country’s security.

Organised through Canada’s military and veteran foundation True Patriot Love, the engagement highlighted the importance of reservists, who bridge the gap between the armed forces and civilian life.

The soldiers juggle challenging dual roles, remaining combat prepared for global operation while also maintaining careers in civilian life.

Harry also visited one of the Royal Canadian Navy’s 24 Reserve divisions, where he met Commander Paul Smith, who made history in 2021 as its first Black commanding officer.

He watched a range of operational showcases, from diving units to deck weapons teams and naval musicians, later discussing with reservists how they balance service duties with full time jobs.
