Beckham vs. Beckham: David Beckham’s ‘cold war’ with Brooklyn Beckham rages on
Brooklyn Beckham still missing in action amid celebrations of David Beckham’s knighthood
David Beckham was knighted by King Charles during an official ceremony at Windsor Castle, November 4.
Since the former footballer received his honour, the Beckhams have turned the town upside down with their extensive celebrations and tributes. Missing among the action still, however, is David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, have been embroiled in a conflict with their famous family, which has never really been acknowledged. Though the aspiring chef’s absence amid the current celebrations has further ignited the long rumoured tensions.
Culture blogger and writer of the trendy newsletter Highly Flammable, Rachel Richardson has termed the ongoing dispute as the Beckhams’ “cold war phase”.
Making an observation about Brooklyn being excluded from the social media pages of the celebrity clan, Richardson said, “They seem to model themselves on the Royal family in the sense of trying to project consistency. It makes it immediately obvious when someone is out of step with the others.”
Indeed, the eldest Beckham child was missing from his mother’s Instagram post celebrating the family’s recent outing at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in London.
“Words cannot express how proud I am of you @DavidBeckham! It was so wonderful to celebrate with both of our families and friends last night at our favourite restaurant in London,” the fashion designer captioned a carousel of images featuring herself alongside her husband and their three other children — Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
Nicola Howson, a member of David Beckham’s team, had previously told The Telegraph that the celebrity dad is “a very passionate family man” while addressing his alleged feud with Brooklyn Beckham. “That’s what he’s come from and that’s what he’s devoted himself to building. His family has always been his priority,” she had reported back in May.
