King Charles, Prince William slammed for having ‘a fiery temper’ in new book

King Charles and Prince William may appear to get along swimmingly as of late, but a new book by journalist and author Robert Jobson is lifting the curtain on the often difficult dynamic between the pair.

In The Windsor Legacy, an upcoming royal biography, Jobson writes, “These days, William and his father generally work well together. The King happily consults him, and largely trusts him to do what is right.”

However, the excerpt also revealed that “there is often an underlying tension between them”.

“It doesn’t help that both have a fiery temper that’s not always held in check,” Jobson further detailed. “Working for Charles, some staff say, can be like ‘treading on eggshells.’”

Other unearthed details from the yet-to-be released book revealed more incidents which outline the claims about the father-and-son duo’s allegedly stubborn disposition.

“Palace sources recall all too well an incident when the prince was overassertive with his father — over a matter that William had completely misinterpreted,” Jobson shared a particular occurrence between the reigning monarch and his heir. “William may always appear to be composed in public, but insiders describe him as occasionally ‘difficult to handle.’”

Though Robert Jobson’s account of the royal family also makes note of the fact that King Charles has “now become more emotional”. Since the King’s 2024 cancer diagnosis, “his longer-serving staff have detected a change in their employer, whom they feel could occasionally seem rather cold,” the book claims.
