Prince Harry Pens emotional letter to Bereaved Military children: 'You’re Not Alone'

Prince Harry once again showed his compassion and connection to Britain’s military families with a heartfelt letter shared ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

The Duke of Sussex wrote an emotional message to children supported by Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity for bereaved British Forces families.

Harry, who lost his mother, Princess Diana, when he was just 12, reminded the children that they’re not alone as they remember their loved ones who served their country.

On Thursday, he shared a letter to fellow bereaved children, ahead of U.K. Remembrance Sunday on November 9.

“As Remembrance approaches, I wanted to write and let you know how incredibly proud we all are of you,” he said. “This time of year can bring pride, love, and sometimes sadness as you remember your parent or loved one who served our country. Please know you’re not alone in that, you’ve got each other, and a whole community of friends and family who understand, myself included.”

The prince, a former British Army captain and Scotty’s Little Soldiers Global Ambassador since 2023, praised the children’s resilience and strength, saying their parents would be so proud.

“Every time I see what Scotty’s families do, the way you remember your loved ones while still finding joy, I’m reminded how strong and inspiring you all are,” Harry added.

In photos shared by his Archewell Foundation, Harry wore the charity’s signature yellow and black colors, symbols of unity, pride, and remembrance.

Concluding his message, the royal wrote, “You inspire me and so many others with your strength. Over Remembrance weekend, I’ll be thinking of you all with pride and admiration.”

Harry’s letter continues his long-standing support for military families and follows his recent letter titled, 'The Bond, The Banter, The Bravery: What It Means to Be British', where he reflected on the enduring spirit of service and remembrance.
