King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla have given their official social media pages a new look in honour of Remembrance Day.

On November 5, the Royal Family’s Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook pages were updated with new profile and cover photos.

The updated profile picture shows the King and Queen attending a Remembrance Service in Ottawa, Canada, in 2009, while the new cover photo features a close-up of red poppies, an enduring symbol of remembrance, alongside the phrase “Lest We Forget” and the Royal Coat of Arms.

This thoughtful switch has become a digital tradition for King Charles’ communications team each November, setting a more solemn tone ahead of the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in London, which the monarch traditionally leads.

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King, Queen, and other senior royals will participate in remembrance events throughout the week.
