King Charles has officially taken away Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s Prince title.

The official Letters Patent confirming the change have now appeared in The Gazette, United Kingdom’s official public record.

"THE KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince,’" the entry read.

A significant step was taken last week to permanently remove Andrew of his Royal status.

His name has now been erased from the official peerage list, a crucial move in the process of taking away the former Royal’s titles.

Buckingham Palace, on October 30th, revealed that Andrew would no longer keep any of his titles or honours.

"His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew," the statement said. "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence."

Continuing, "Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. "

"These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."
