Aimee Lou Wood is not shying away from expressing her disappointment over her White Lotus costar Sydeny Sweeney’s response to the criticism she faced over the notorious American Eagle ad campaign.

Just months after the Euphoria star broke her silence on the denim campaign that drew severe backlash, Aimee has been open about her strong stance.

During an interview with GQ, Sydney was asked if she was surprised about the reaction the ad received, to which she replied, "I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I'm literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life."

The campaign, with its emphasis on words "gene" and "jeans,” sparked immense scrutiny for the 28-year-old actress and the clothing retailer, with some critics alleging it promoted racism and eugenics.

For the unversed, eugenics is a discredited belief promoting selective breeding to improve humanity, rooted in racism and discrimination.

Aimee couldn't help but share her honest reaction as she commented under a video of the interview, replying with a vomiting emoji, a move that earned widespread support on social media.

It wasn't only Aimee Lou Wood who was deeply infuriated by Sydney Sweeney’s tone deaf reaction; many others were as well, calling out her behaviour as dismissive.
