Sydney Sweeney opens up about convincing parents to chase her dreams
Sydney Sweeney gives rare look into her childhood
Sydney Sweeney took a trip down memory lane on The Late Night with Stephen Colbert, and opened up about how her Hollywood dreams began.
The Euphoria actress sat down with the 61-year-old host on November 6, and revealed how she convinced her parents to let her chase her dream of becoming an actress.
“They thought it was like being a princess, they didn’t think it was real," she playfully shared.
“I put together a five-year business plan presentation when I was 10 years old,” she recalled, adding that the presentation detailed, “Why they should let me audition and the steps that we would take to become an actor.”
But despite her determination, the 28-year-old actress admitted it took time to earn their support, saying, "It was a hard sell and took a few years."
Elsewhere in the interview, the Anyone But You actress also offered a glimpse into her tight family bond and childhood, revealing that her grandmother lives right next door.
“So my family have been living on this lake for five generations. So my grandma was born and raised in this house. And then she had my mom in the house and I grew up in the house,” Sydney shared.
"The properties have all been next to each other, with all the siblings. Her parents (my great-grandparents) were her neighbors. And when I was born, they passed away and they sold the property to another couple," she added.
Continuing, "So growing up we would run across the backyard to my other cousins, and three years ago I walked up and knocked on the door and said, ‘I want to buy back my great-grandmother’s house.’"
