Meghan Markle is officially returning to acting, and as the rumour mill has begun grinding about her allegedly difficult on-set behaviour, one of her former co-stars is keeping an eye out for the naysayers.

Wendell Pierce, who played Meghan’s father on the hit legal drama Suits, has come out to defend his onscreen daughter.

Angela Levin, a veteran British journalist, recently wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) account, “Meghan won’t love being told what to do by any producer. Suits actors found her ‘difficult, demanding and rude’ and she was only a starter then.”

“You have no idea what you are talking about,” Pierce directly addressed Levin’s claims under her post. “You are a gossip monger looking to profit off of smearing a woman you know nothing about. Meghan was a kind, giving, and talented artist who I enjoyed working with for years. You Angela are a shameless hack. I’m more mad at myself for allowing you to get under my skin.”

He further added that he would prefer to “focus this anger on the friendship that Meghan and I have and the fond memories I have from working on SUITS,” while concluding his response with a nod to the Duchess of Sussex’s “grace”, telling Levin that it is “something you know nothing about.”

The heated response from Wendell Pierce came after the recent announcement that Meghan Markle is making an unexpected return to acting. She is set to appear alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends.
