David Harbour joined Millie Bobby Brown on red carpet amid reports of allegedly strained dynamic
David Harbour has been on thin ice in the media ever since his ex-wife Lily Allen disclosed his alleged infidelity and claims about his bullying behaviour from the set of Stranger Things emerged.
Now, the 50-year-old actor has been accused of doing “damage control” with his latest public appearance at the premiere of the series’ final season.
Harbour joined his co-star and alleged petitioner, Millie Bobby Brown, on the event’s red carpet, where the two looked close as ever.
According to Variety, “If the two seemed overly chummy on Thursday, perhaps that was the point”. While a PR executive told the outlet, “The goal in these situations is to make it no worse.”
For the record, Daily Mail previously reported the bombshell that Brown had filed a bullying and harassment complaint against Harbour which allegedly stemmed from their time on the Netflix hit’s set. “The news of Brown’s complaint against Harbour has threatened to overshadow coverage of the final season of ’Stranger Things,’” Variety further noted.
Harbour additionally limited his interaction with the press at the premiere, with Entertainment Tonight being the only media channel he provided an interview to.
“I adore her, and I’ve been proud to watch all of them grow up and become such great artists… this particular project is so special, and we’ve gotten to know each other so deeply,” he told the show about his relationship with Stranger Things’ young cast, particularly Brown.
While the 21-year-old actress and new mother shared with the same outlet that she “obviously had a really special bond with David because we have a father-daughter relationship, and we do every scene together… It’s been so special to have him along the journey for me.”
Judi James, a body language expert, has also described David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown’s interaction at the Stranger Things premiere as “overkill”. While the Mail’s source regarding Brown’s petition against Harbour was “a friend” of Lily Allen’s.
