Teyana Taylor said teaching her All’s Fair castmates a bit of internet slang made her feel proud, and she thinks her daughter would be too.

The 34-year-old singer and actress opened up to PEOPLE at the CFDA Fashion Awards on November 3, sharing that she passed along playful gestures and slang she learned from her daughter while on the set of the Hulu legal drama All’s Fair.

“Even though I’m an old soul, I taught them which [gesture] is ‘clock it’ and ‘ate it,’ ” Taylor said, referring to the motions of connecting the pointer finger and thumb, and the middle finger and thumb.

“So I’m proud of myself. I feel like my daughter would’ve been proud because she taught me that, so I taught them that.”

The Gonna Love Me hitmaker shares two daughters with ex-husband Iman Shumpert: Rue Rose, 5, and Iman “Junie” Tayla, 9.

Taylor, who plays Milan, the ambitious mentee to Kim Kardashian’s Allura, is one of the youngest members of the star-studded ensemble that includes Kardashian, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash-Betts.

The series follows a team of female divorce attorneys who leave a male-led firm to build their own practice.
