Prince Harry reflects on wife Meghan Markle during emotional speech in Canada
The Duke of Sussex shares heartfelt confession about Meghan Markle during his Canada visit
Prince Harry made sure to deliver a heartfelt moment for his wife of six and a half years, Meghan Markle, during his Canadian getaway.
As he marked Remembrance Day, in honour of his royal connection to King Charles III, the 41-year-old prince fondly reminisced about meeting his 44-year-old wife before they were married.
For those unversed, Remembrance Day is observed across the Commonwealth on November 11 and pays tribute to military personnel who have died in the line of duty.
The Duke of Sussex went on to extend his love to Canada, thanking the country for giving him a wife and for bestowing the honour of hosting the Invictus Games in 2017.
During his moving speech at the 17th annual True Patriot Love Foundation national tribute dinner in Toronto, Harry expressed his gratitude by admitting, "Canada gave me my wife."
"Truthfully and jokes aside, this city will always mean a great deal to me," he continued.
"Together we witnessed something extraordinary. The strength of the human spirit that shines when people who have served rise again through sport, teamwork, and a redefined purpose," Prince Harry added in his speech.
For context, Harry and Meghan met on a blind date in July 2016 and were engaged in November 2017. A year later, the couple tied the knot on May 19, 2018.
It is important to note that Prince Harry’s visit to Canada highlights his military service, having been a part of the British Armed Forces for a decade between 2005 and 2015.
