Jeremy Renner is not sitting back in the wake of recent allegations, taking firm action against filmmaker Yi Zhou.

On Friday, November 7, the 34-year-old Chinese director revealed to the Daily Mail that the 54-year-old Marvel actor threatened to "call ICE" on her when she began dating him last month.

In the latest development, Renner issued a cease-and-desist letter to Zhou through his attorney, Marty Singer, as reported by TMZ on Saturday, November 8.

For the unversed, a cease-and-desist letter is a formal written demand to stop an allegedly illegal or harmful activity.

Moreover, it serves as a warning that legal action may be pursued if the recipient fails to comply with its demands.

The Hawkeye actor claimed that he had only agreed to take part in Zhou’s Chronicles of Disney documentary before she allegedly began pursuing him romantically.

He acknowledged a brief consensual encounter with the filmmaker but rejected her attempted efforts to engage in a sexual relationship.

Renner’s lawyers directed Zhou to cease circulating “fabricated stories” and the unauthorised use of his image.

The Avengers star also warned that he would take further legal action if the Lost in Beijing actress does not adhere to his request.

This major update came after Renner's representative previously denied the allegations made against him by Zhou.

“The allegations being made are totally inaccurate and untrue,” his representative stated, per Page Six.

It is worth noting that in 2019, Jeremy Renner’s ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, had also accused him of substance abuse and threatening behaviour.
