Alexandra Daddario reflects on Rachel’s future beyond 'The White Lotus'

Alexandra Daddario reflects on her White Lotus past and imagines what her fan-favorite character, Rachel Patton, might be up to now.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the actress, who currently stars in the LGBTQ+ drama I Wish You All the Best, opened up about her time on the Emmy-winning HBO series and the fate of her season one alter ego.

“I think she stayed with him,” Daddario said, referring to Rachel’s wealthy and self-absorbed husband, Shane Patton (Jake Lacy).

“And what does that look like four years down the road? Did they have kids? There’s a lot of directions that could go in.”

The San Andreas star who portrayed Rachel, a young writer whose tense honeymoon in Maui spiraled into marital regret and chaos after Shane killed hotel manager Armond (Murray Bartlett).

Though Rachel ultimately chose to remain in the marriage, Daddario admits the thought still lingers with her.

“I do think about her as a character, and it makes me sad to think she’s still out there in the creative ether with him,” she said. “But I’d be very curious to see what Mike White thinks she’s up to.”

As for where she’d like Rachel to travel next? “There's a lot of places in the world I want to go that I haven't been, but I would be more interested in what this story was,” says Daddario, who notes, “Portugal's very in right now.”

The actress, who welcomed her first child with husband Andrew Form in 2024, confessed she hasn’t yet caught up with the most recent White Lotus season, filmed in Thailand and featuring Parker Posey and Michelle Monaghan.

“I have not turned the television on since the birth of my child,” she joked.
