Elon Musk’s multibillion-dollar empire: A look at his companies and their valuations
A look at every major Musk-owned company and the valuations behind his multibillion-dollar empire
Elon Musk isn’t just the world’s most talked-about CEO, he also runs one of the most valuable and diverse tech empires ever built.
While Tesla is the crown jewel of his portfolio, Musk has spent the last decade shaping industries as different as space travel, social media, artificial intelligence (AI), and even brain–machine interfaces.
With markets rising and investor interest in AI and space technology at an all-time high, here’s a closer look at every major Musk-owned company and the valuations behind his multibillion-dollar empire.
Tesla — $1.11 trillion
Tesla remains Musk’s largest and most influential company by far. As a publicly traded EV and clean-energy giant, Tesla’s valuation sits around $1.11 trillion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world.
Its soaring market cap is fueled by strong expectations around robotaxis, autonomous driving, and Musk’s long-term vision for a fully automated future.
SpaceX — $350–$400 billion
SpaceX is considered the most valuable private company in America, with an estimated valuation between $350 billion and $400 billion depending on its latest funding rounds.
With Starship launches increasing and Starlink expanding globally, investors expect SpaceX’s valuation to surge even higher in the next few years.
xAI — $80 billion
Musk’s newest venture, xAI, has become one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world.
Known for building the “Grok” chatbot (integrated into X), xAI recently hit a valuation of about $80 billion, thanks to aggressive funding rounds and Musk positioning it as a direct rival to OpenAI.
Neuralink — $8 billion
Neuralink, Musk’s brain-implant company, recently crossed an estimated $8 billion valuation, boosted by its first successful human trial earlier this year.
The company aims to make brain–computer interfaces mainstream, a mission attracting major investor attention.
The Boring Company — $7 billion
Focused on tunneling and hyperloop-style transport systems, The Boring Company is valued at roughly $7 billion.
While still early-stage, it remains one of Musk’s most experimental ventures.
X (formerly Twitter) — $9.4 billion
After Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion in 2022, the platform (now X) has seen its valuation drop to around $9.4 billion.
