Royal family honours fallen heroes at Cenotaph service
Royal family leads nation in remembrance at Cenotaph
Royal family recently honoured fallen heroes at the Cenotaph in Whitehall on November 9, 2025.
The royal family’s official page on Instagram shared a series of snaps of King Charles and penned a note, writing, “We remember them. On behalf of the nation, The King lays a wreath at the Cenotaph during the annual Service of Remembrance.”
It also added, "Wreaths were laid by The Prince of Wales, and The Duke of Edinburgh, and on behalf of The Queen, and The Duke of Kent."
Dressed in full ceremonial uniform, the King appeared to lay the first wreath after the national two-minute silence.
The 76-year-old monarch was joined by senior royals, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Queen Camilla, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
They stood together on the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office balconies as leaders, veterans, and representatives of Britain’s armed forces paid tribute to the fallen.
According to Hello, the Remembrance Sunday service was surrounded by participants around 10,000, representing 341 armed forces and civilian associations took part in the service, including 20 Second World War veterans, some aged 101, and young members of the veteran-support charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
