Andrew’s royal accommodation to be debated in Parliament for the first time
MPs set to discuss ex-Prince Andrew’s extended stay at Royal Lodge
Andrew, the former Duke of York, is no longer sheltered from constitutional action due to his status as an ex-royal. And members of the British Parliament are expected to begin probe into his matters owing to this fact.
The Telegraph has reported that the disgraced royal member’s “conduct will be debated in Parliament for the first time next week, amid growing calls for him to give evidence before MPs.”
Where Liberal Democrats are set to raise concerns about Andrew’s accommodation, the Royal Lodge, where he is expected to reside until the new year — despite the order from King Charles to vacate it and move to Sandringham — emerging reports have also outlined that the King’s younger brother could also be called before the US Congress to provide testimony related to his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
“There are still too many unanswered questions surrounding this scandal that the public deserve answers to,” a Liberal Democrat source told The Times.
The party representative further insisted that “Andrew should be giving evidence to Parliament under oath” and come clean “over his links to Epstein and his victims.”
It was added that the matter will arrive on the Parliament’s floors when MPs “return from recess” on Tuesday, date unspecified.
Meanwhile, Andrew also reportedly received correspondence from American Democrats on the House Oversight Committee last week, which requested his approval for a “transcribed interview” to testify that he “may have valuable information about the crimes committed by Epstein and his co-conspirators.”
