Meghan Markle stepped out for dual events during the same night — Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday bash and the Baby2Baby gala.

Accompanied by Prince Harry at both of the gatherings on November 8, the Duchess of Sussex’s appearance just before Remembrance Sunday stood out for an important reason to her royal followers.

Choosing not to wear a red poppy pin with her all-black ensemble, a tradition which was observed by her husband, Meghan’s decision has been explained by sources close to her as one pertaining to unavailability.

The Daily Mail reported that the Duchess “was unable to visibly honour the war dead as poppies are not widely available in the States, unlike in Commonwealth countries.”

While it was further mentioned that the Duke of Sussex’s poppy was likely “obtained after donating to the appeal during his recent visit to Canada”.

However, the publication did make note of the fact that the As Ever founder has sported a red poppy — symbol for the fallen soldiers’ remembrance — on previous occasions.

“Last year, the Sussexes both wore poppies fastened to their lapels as they published a joint video about online violence against children. While in 2023 the Duchess wore a poppy brooch as she and Harry visited United States Navy SEALs in San Diego,” Daily Mail stated.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were joined by a host of celebrities during their two appearances on Saturday night. The Duke and Duchess were joined by guests like the Kardashian-Jenners, Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, among others at Kris Jenner’s party. While the couple were photographed with their longtime pal Serena Williams at the Baby2Baby gala, which was also attended by other noted figures like Jessica Alba, Demi Lovato, Simu Liu, and more.
