Sophia Hammons opened up about her unforgettable experience working alongside Hollywood icon Jamie Lee Curtis and the one thing the veteran actress absolutely wouldn’t do.

While speaking with PEOPLE at the 2025 Women in Film (WIF) Honors in Los Angeles on last week, the 18-year-old actress reflected on filming Disney’s Freakier Friday, the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday.

“Jamie’s game for everything, except singing,” Hammons revealed with a laugh. “That’s the one thing she won’t do. Otherwise, she’s incredibly collaborative and open to new ideas. It was awesome to get to play off of her.”

In Freakier Friday, Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprise their iconic mother-daughter roles, this time joined by Sophia Hammons and Julia Butters.

The Under Wraps actress also recalled one chaotic but hilarious filming day that ended in a blooper reel.

“We were just shoving doughnuts in each other’s mouths. I’m pretty sure Jamie ate 36 doughnuts that day,” she joked. “But she’s game for it all. She’s awesome.”

“Jamie taught me so much, not just about acting but about kindness, professionalism, and how to treat people,” Hammons shared.

“Watching her work and seeing how she supports everyone around her has meant the world to me. It’s been such a full-circle moment.”

Curtis also reflected on the significance of the moment, sharing that she sees her young costars as the next generation of storytellers.

“Sophia and Julia are the ones who will carry it forward,” she told PEOPLE.
