Inside Meghan Markle’s latest Hollywood move after years away from spotlight

Meghan Markle is reportedly over the moon after returning to acting following an eight-year hiatus.

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted filming on November 5, in Pasadena, California, for Close Personal Friends, an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios comedy starring Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding.

Notably, Meghan will appear as herself in a small role.

According to a source that spoke to PEOPLE magazine, the mother of two “introduced herself as 'Meghan.' Everything about her was very sweet and calm."

"She genuinely seemed excited to be on set," the insider shared, adding, "She was joking that she felt a bit rusty, but it was obvious that she had rehearsed and that it was a big deal for her to be back. And she was great."

"She had a very warm energy, too. She was super pleasant to be around," the tipster revealed.

Close Personal Friends, directed by Jason Orley and written by Isaac Aptaker, centers around “one couple that meets and befriends a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. Personal lines get crossed, among other things, and awkward hilarity ensues.”

The project marks Meghan’s first acting role since leaving Suits in 2017, shortly before her engagement to Prince Harry.

A source previously told The Sun that Harry is “really supportive” of his wife’s return to acting and “wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy."

However, the release date of Meghan Markle’s forthcoming film Close Personal Friends has yet to be announced.
