Lorde’s 'ruthless' illness forces bombshell last-minute decision
Lorde forced to take unexpected decision hours before Luxembourg's Rockhal
Lorde recently cancelled her Luxembourg show due to a "ruthless" ilness.
As reported by Daily Mail, the 29-year-old singer was forced to withdraw from her performance in Northwestern Europe due to food poisoning.
The New Zealand-born pop star announced the heartbreaking news on her Instagram account and revealed that her fans could either receive a refund or attend another date as part of her European leg of the Ultrasound World Tour.
Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, penned, "Luxembourg, I am so sorry to have to tell you that I came down with ruthless food poisoning last night, and I'm still too sick to play for you today.”
The Everybody Wants to Rule the World hitmaker went on to say, "I've been resting all day, hoping I'd be well enough, but I can hardly stand up, and you deserve more.
"My sincerest apologies to anyone inconvenienced or upset by this. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it.
"Our first ever Lux show, first night at Ultrasound EU, our one show with OK Lou, it's beyond gutting.”
The Ribs songstress further added, "Please know that if there was any way I could pull it off, I'd be out there. We are actively working with the promoter on rescheduling, so hold on to your tickets for now."
She concluded her post, adding, "Refunds will be offered if the new date's no good for you. Thank you for your grace tonight. Love, from a very weak girl."
Lorde postponed show is part of the Green Light singer’s ongoing Ultrasound World Tour in Northwestern Europe, with upcoming performances in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.
