Florence Pugh recently hits back at online bullying, which she faced at the time of dating her now-ex boyfriend, Zach Braff.

For the unversed, Pugh, who dated Braff from 2019 to 2022, faced immense online hate when she posted a birthday tribute to her then boyfriend on Instagram in April 2020.

Her post was soon flooded with negative comments criticising their significant 21 years of age difference.

Now, during an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, the 29-year-old actress discussed the online bullying she faced five years ago.

“Within about eight minutes of the photo being posted, I had about 70 percent of the comments hurling abuse and being horrid — basically bullying someone on my page,” the Thunderbolts* actress said.

According to Pugh, it was the first time in her entire Instagram life that she had to turn off the comments on her page.

"I’ve never been an Instagram page that encourages that," the Dune: Part Two star said, adding, "I’ve never been an Instagram page that likes that toxic vibe."

While explaining the reason for posting the picture online for the first time, the Little Women actress revealed she did so to "check" her followers and remind them that she and the Scrubs actor are real people.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Oppenheimer performer was asked whether she talks about her romantic relationships in the press, to which, Pugh replied “not anymore.”

"With relationships and with romance in this world, it doesn’t matter how much you speak on it or how little you speak on it, people don’t care, said the Don't Worry Darling actress, adding, “They want a story. They sort of want a reality show."

In the end, Florence Pugh, said, "so it doesn’t really matter how much you say you love someone or how much they make you happy, if they don’t like them and it doesn’t fit that image that they want of you, they don’t care."
