Elon Musk calls Cybertruck ‘awesome’ as he doubles down on hype despite Tesla executive exits
Elon Musk is once again promoting Cybertruck, brushing aside concerns even as Tesla faces leadership turnover
Elon Musk has reignited enthusiasm for the Cybertruck on X (formerly Twitter), responding to owners who praised the vehicle and insisting it remains one of the company’s standout products.
His renewed push comes at a tense moment, with the stainless-steel pickup under heightened scrutiny amid recalls, lawsuits, and shifting demand.
The vehicle, which has stirred strong reactions since launch, is now navigating a tougher market environment.
Prices on some trims have been raised, the entry-level model has been discontinued, and international expansion has accelerated as the US appetite cools.
The hype drive also follows the departure of Siddhant Awasthi, the longtime engineer who led the program and described his exit as a difficult personal decision after eight years at the company.
Further complicating matters, Tesla recently issued a recall of roughly 6,200 units, citing a defective adhesive on the off-road light bar.
Legal challenges have also emerged, with lawsuits alleging that faulty door handles prevented passengers from escaping during a deadly crash.
Moreover, another senior leader, Emmanuel Lamacchia, who oversaw the Model Y programme, has also left the company.
