'Squid Game' star O Yeong-su has been cleared of his sexual misconduct conviction after a South Korean appellate court overturned the ruling, according to The Korea Herald.

The 81-year-old actor was found guilty in March 2024 on two counts of sexual harassment and received an eight-month suspended sentence.

However, the Suwon District Court has now reversed that decision, citing uncertainty about the reliability of the accuser’s memory over time.

O Yeong-su was accused of hugging and kissing a woman without consent during a 2017 theatre tour. The court noted that while suspicions remained the evidence did not conclusively prove his guilt.

The judges stated that the defendant’s rights must be protected “when reasonable doubt remains.”

While, the actor has maintained that he only held the woman’s hand to guide her during the walk.
