What's the secret behind 'Stranger Things' success? Duffer brothers reveal

The Duffer brothers have shared the secret recipe for the success of sci-fi horror mystery drama series Stranger Things.

At the star-studded Los Angeles premiere of the hit series fifth and final season, on November 6, the twin brothers described the moment as “surreal,” and reflected on the impact the show had on viewers as well as the years that turned a group of kids into global stars and into family.

"I think a lot of the success of the show is, people can relate to these characters, and they can relate to these actors. They're good people," Ross shared, in conversation with People. "And I think it comes through in their performances."

He went on to explain that fans find the characters and their struggles relatable, so watching them overcome challenges provides them hope. "So, I think that's a big part of the success," he added.

 Matt believes the show's strength lies in the strong bond of its cast, which includes Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo, and more, noting that they have "become a big family."

"For the younger cast, the kids who are no longer kids, it's been 10 years, it's half their lives," he remarked. "They're all very, very close. And I think the real-life bond that they have translates into the show."

The final season, set in 1987, finds Hawkins scarred by the Rifts as the heroes unite for one last mission to defeat Vecna.The Duffers teased that there’s “no time for a ramp-up” this time, it’s going to be intense from start to end.

Furthermore, Stranger Things Season 5 premieres in three parts with Volume 1 arriving on November 26, followed by Volume 2 on December 25, and the grand finale on December 31.
