Catherine Zeta-Jones suggests Danny DeVito for major role on 'Wednesday'
Catherine Zeta-Jones plays iconic role of Morticia Addams on 'Wednesday'
Catherine Zeta-Jones, who stars as Morticia on the Netflix series Wednesday, wants to take the show to the next level with Danny DeVito as a new cast member.
Speaking to Variety, the 56-year-old Welsh actress expressed her shock that Danny DeVito wasn’t considered to be a part of the hit horror-comedy mystery series.
"I don’t know how Danny DeVito hasn’t been cast already," she said at the Wednesday FYC event at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Hollywood.
"I was with him for our birthday in September and I was like, 'Why isn't Danny DeVito in Wednesday?'" she added, after which she had a light-bulb moment and enthusiastically suggested which member of the Addams Family he would be perfect to take on.
"Imagine Danny DeVito as Cousin It? That'd be so cool," Catherine stated.
However, The Legend of Zorro actress quipped that the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star might not be thrilled by the idea to take on the role to play Addams Family’s odd cousin.
"He's gonna kill me for that. He's like, 'Yeah, they're going to cast me and put hair all over my face. Thanks for suggesting that, Catherine,'" she playfully remarked.
