Dakota Fanning expresses strong desire to be a mom

Dakota Fanning wants to embrace a new chapter in her life that centers on love, purpose, and the hope of motherhood.

In a new interview with Byrdie, the 31-year-old actress opened up about her dreams for the future, revealing that becoming a mother is something she’s always deeply wanted.

"Every year that goes by, you’re more in tune with who you are and what you want and don’t want," she shared.

Continuing, "I've always wanted to have kids, that's something I've never questioned and has always been really important to me. So, hopefully, dating will end soon, and this next decade will bring that into my life."

The Vicious star reflected on how her thirties mark a time of self-awareness and transition.

This isn’t the first time the actress has expressed her desire to become a mother.

“Being an actor is a huge part of my identity,” The Watchers actress shared in an April 2024 interview with PORTER.

“But I also have a desire to set up my life and career so that I always have a choice.” Fanning admitted that becoming a mother holds a special place in her heart, even above her career.

"Having kids is probably more important to me than anything, even being an actor," she stated. "If somebody said I had to choose, I would choose having kids. I'm one of those people who has always felt that pull."

One thing is clear that Fanning has a special place for motherhood in her heart, and she can't wait to become one.
