Robert Irwin receives unexpected call from Prince William on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Prince William made his debut on Dancing with the Stars — not as a performer, but to surprise his good friend and the reality show’s current contestant, Robert Irwin.
Irwin, who partners with Witney Carson for the competitive dancing programme, received a surprise FaceTime call of luck from the Prince of Wales on Tuesday, November 11.
“Guys, you’ve got a seriously good chance of winning it,” William addressed Irwin and his partner. “So, just the best of luck on the show.”
“We’re missing you, Robert. Whilst your twinkle toes are going off elsewhere, I need you down here,” he further told his Earthshot Prize’s ambassador, presumably calling from his environmental trip to Brazil.
While addressing Carson, the heir apparent joked, “You need to get him in as much glitter as you can.”
Following the 43-year-old royal’s appearance, Carson exclaimed, “I can’t believe he just said my name!”
Notably, Robert Irwin serves as Earthshot Prize’s global ambassador and was expected to accompany Prince William to the environmental initiative’s latest awards ceremony — held on November 5 — but was occupied with his commitment to Dancing with the Stars season 34.
