Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson reunite for Netflix’s ‘Luther’

Idris Elba is stepping back into his iconic role as Detective John Luther and this time, he’s playing it alongside Ruth Wilson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elba and Wilson are reuniting for a brand-new Luther film at Netflix.

The movie will mark Wilson’s long-awaited return as the cunning and unpredictable Alice Morgan, a fan-favorite character who was missing from 2023’s Luther: The Fallen Sun.

Dermot Crowley will also reprise his role as detective Martin Schenk, with Jamie Payne returning as director after helming Fallen Sun and several episodes of the original BBC series.

Payne shared his excitement about the reunion, saying, “Neil has yet again created a wonderfully dark tale to bring us all back together.“

“It’s a true joy to be back on the streets of Lutherland with the supreme talents that are Idris Elba and Dermot Crowley. I am also thrilled to be reunited with the brilliant and dangerous Alice Morgan, played by the extraordinarily talented Ruth Wilson,” he added.
