Adele is officially heading to the big screen.

According to Variety, the Grammy-winning singer will make her feature film debut in Cry to Heaven, a new period drama directed by fashion designer and filmmaker Tom Ford.

The movie, based on Anne Rice’s 1982 novel, is set in 18th-century Italy and follows a Venetian noble and a castrated Calabrian singer as they chase fame and redemption in the world of opera.

Adele joins an impressive cast that includes Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Colin Firth.

The film is currently in pre-production phase in London and Rome, with shooting scheduled to begin in January 2026.

The project marks Adele’s first major acting role following her “break” after wrapping up her Las Vegas residency in November 2024.
