King Charles has showcased the newly renovated Sandringham gardens on the cover of Country Life, marking a new chapter for the estate ahead of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s arrival.

Captured under the warm sunshine, the 76-year-old Monarch looked effortlessly relaxed and sharp in a pale open-necked shirt, beige trousers, and brown suede shoes, leaning on a shepherd’s crook.

King Charles personally selected photographer Millie Pilkington for the job of taking his picture in a formal park of his Norfolk estate.

Describing the Royal’s work on Sandringham since his accession, Country Life editor in chief Mark Hedges called the renovations "remarkable."

"Over the past three years, His Majesty The King has overseen a remarkable restoration of the gardens at Sandringham, reviving historic landscapes, reimagining formal parterres and creating new spaces of reflection and natural beauty for visitors to enjoy," he stated.

The Magazine highlights Sandringham’s 60 acre "pleasure gardens," set within parkland as a “showcase of the finest designs.”

Charles has managed to restore the formal spaces with a sundial garden, a maze and a topiary garden, drawing inspiration from his childhood recollections of Queen Alexand’s ornamental garden at the estates’s Dairy Cottage.

A 400-yard Magnolia Walk was added by him, where hundreds of varieties bloom, including many of his personal favourites.

"The scale, the speed and the importance of what he has already achieved cannot be overemphasised,” magazine continued.
