Karla Sofía Gascón reveals real reason for missing Selena Gomez's wedding

Although they shared a close bond on set, Karla Sofía Gascón was not seen at her Emilia Pérez costar Selena Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco.

During her appearance on the red carpet outside the 2025 Los40 Music Awards in Valencia, Spain, the 53-year-old Spanish actress revealed why she wasn't able to attent the magical event held on September, 27, 2025 .

"I didn't go to the wedding, I'm working," she firmly stated, before playfully adding, "Besides, imagine! I'm not even going to my family's weddings, because we have to shell out. Imagine if I had to pay for Selena's. No, no, no, I'd be ruined."

The We Are the Nobles actress’ remarks come almost a year after she and the 33-year-old singer and actress reportedly caught up in a feud over a resurfaced post, in which Karla criticised the Only Murders in the Building actress while addressing Selena’s rumoured dispute with ex Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey.

"She's a rich rat who plays the poor b**** whenever she can and will never stop bothering her ex-boyfriend and his wife," she reportedly penned on her now deactivated Twitter account, according to The Latin Times.

But Karla went on to deny ever talking about her co-star, telling CNN en Español, "I have never said anything about my colleague."

"I would never refer to her that way."
