Prince William, Harry’s friend reveals bombshell insights into Royal childhood
Prince William and Harry’s friend shares explosive details about Royal life
Prince William and Prince Harry’s childhood friend, Humphrey Ker, has come forward to share insights into the royal life.
For the unversed, Humphrey Ker and William were classmates at Ludgrove School from 1990 before moving to Eton in 1995, with Harry a few years junior.
The actor and writer, who is also the executive director of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Wrexham AFC, shared a dorm with the Prince of Wales at the age of seven.
Now, in a new interview with The Telegraph, Humphrey, 43, revealed that when the boys were asked what they wanted to become when they grew up, William said he wanted to become a "policeman", prompting everyone to laugh.
However, he noted that even at such a young age he “really felt for” William, who faced overwhelming public attention, acknowledging that being part of the Royal Family came with its fair share of obstacles.
"It was during that period when Diana was front page news every single day. Everybody knew everything going on, and it just seemed totally miserable," Humphrey said.
Touching on the connection between the royal brothers, he added, "[William] was always very sweet and sensible. He just knew what his responsibilities were. Harry was much more of a maniac: great fun but much more badly behaved. I'm sure it's exactly the same dynamic [with George and Louis] now."
'I just feel so sorry for them. It's that gilded cage thing. It just looks miserable,' the director stated, highlighting the intense pressures of life in the Royal Family.
Humphrey drifted apart from William during their years at Eton, with the two eventually pursuing separate paths at university.
It’s worth noting that Prince William and Humphrey Ker briefly reunited last year when William travelled to Wrexham for St David's Day.
