Gloria Estefan dazzles with a win and a powerful duet with Nathy Peluso
Gloria Estefan shone brightly at the 26th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards which lit the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, November 13, filling the night with music, pride and unforgettable performances.
Among the most celebrated artists of the evening as Estefan stood out as her long awaited album Raices, released on May 30, earned her the award for Best Traditional Tropical Album.
As the Hoy singer stepped onto the stage to accept her gramophone as the audience fell silent, moved by her heartfelt words.
“Thank you for the beautiful songs you wrote for me. The impeccable production that characterizes you. The 50 years of making music together which still feels like the first day,” she said.
However the night had more magic in store as the moments after receiving her award the 68-year-old returned to the stage, this time accompanied by the powerful and modern presence of Nathy Peluso.
Together, Gloria Estefan and the 30-year-old delivered a dynamic performance of La Vecina (No Sé Na') and Chirriqui Chirri blending classic tropical rhythms with modern talent.
Their chemistry and energy electrified the arena and prompting the audience to rise from their seats.
It became one of the evening’s most memorable moments as a celebration of two generations united through music.
