King Charles III is set to welcome his 77th year with a trip to Wales.

On Friday, November 14, Charles and Queen Camilla will visit South Wales, where the royal couple will meet homegrown stars from the worlds of art, heritage and culture.

The King’s birthday will be marked with a reception at Cyfarthfa Castle near Merthyr Tydfil.

The guest list will include actress Ruth Jones, TikTok creator Lewis Leigh, fashion designer Julien Macdonald, and representatives from the Laura Ashley Foundation.

The community reception will also welcome representatives from Charles and Camilla’s patronages, including The King’s Trust and the Royal Osteoporosis Society, alongside local businesses such as Cocos Coffee and Candles and Enaid Wellness.

Charles's birthday this year comes in the wake of several high-profile personal and public events that brought their fair share of challenges.

Starting with his declining health, the British monarch was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer early last year and continues his regular treatment program, believed to take place weekly.

Recently, his reign has also been overshadowed by the scandal surrounding his disgraced brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York.

Andrew’s connection to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein ultimately led to Charles stripping him of his titles.

On a historic note, Charles visited the Vatican, becoming the first monarch since the Reformation to pray alongside the Pope in a public service.

The meeting with Pope Leo XIV was widely seen as a symbolic gesture of unity between Anglicans and Roman Catholics worldwide.

Moreover, King Charles also hosted US President Donald Trump at Windsor Castle in Berkshire for a second state visit in September.
