Ariana Grande’s Wicked costar, Marissa Bode is speaking out after a terrifying incident at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore where a man rushed at the Swindle star on the red carpet.

Bode, who plays Nessarose Thropp in the upcoming two part film adaptation, addressed the situation in several TikTok videos posted on Thursday, November 13, criticizing those who defended the man’s behavior.

“‘But they’re a fan!’ Okay. Then they’re a fan and a loser,” Bode said in response to social media users who claimed the individual was simply an obsessive supporter.

The man, identified as Johnson Wen also known online as “Pyjama Man” has a history of jumping onstage or approaching celebrities at public events. He even posted his own footage of the incident online.

According to the BBC, Wen was charged with being a public nuisance by a Singapore court on Friday, November 14.

Bode explained that she has often spoken about “parasociality, especially at things like concerts or just when someone in the public eye is at an event, like people throwing s--- on stage mid-performance.”

She criticised the attention seeking nature of Wen’s actions, adding, “This is what I mean when I say social media brings out the worst in people… You made somebody feel incredibly unsafe, but just no remorse… You’re a bad person.”

The No Roles Written star also emphasised that she does not believe “women, or really anybody, should be expected to move with grace or respond with kindness when they’ve been violated in that way.”

Grande has not commented publicly, only sharing premiere photos and writing, “thank you, Singapore we love you.” (sic)

In a follow-up TikTok video, Marissa Bode expanded her message, pointing to public criticism faced by Chappell Roan and Rachel Zegler, she said, “These are people, they are not products… if you don’t agree with that, you are not a fan.”
