‘Huntress Kate’: Kate Middleton’s ‘steely’ strategy to deal with royal scandals explained
Kate Middleton ‘has always played the long game’ — claims royal expert
According to some royal experts, Kate Middleton has emerged as the fiercest royal amid the establishment’s recent run of scandals involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
While writing for The Independent, writer and historian Tessa Dunlop claimed that the Princess of Wales’ appearance next to Sarah Ferguson at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral in September was the key to how the former Duke and Duchess of York’s withdrawal from the royal family would unfold.
“The sharp contrast between the two women was eye-popping, Kate’s arch face a fitting riposte to the already sombre day,” she penned. “Dubbed the ‘protective huntress’ by one royal-watcher, once more the Windsors’ meticulous player had fended off danger, her poise and ice-queen exterior the alchemy that has led to this new alpha epitaph.”
Further dubbing her “Huntress Kate”, the royal expert claimed that her husband, Prince William, was actually the one following her lead.
“Huntress Kate, the untouchable royal charm, silently signalling that enough is enough. Yards away on the same step, William mirrored his wife’s behaviour in the face of Andrew’s buffoonery,” Dunlop added. “Kate has always played the long game, and both she and her husband have a brutal, steely streak.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William recently moved into Forest Lodge, described as their “forever home” — a decision which has been credited for accelerating Andrew’s removal from the Windsor grounds, as the ex-Prince vacated his neighbouring Royal Lodge shortly after the couple’s move.
