Blake Lively officially filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni in 2024
Amid his heated legal battle with Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni has reportedly found an unexpected source of support from The Office’s Rainn Wilson.
Court documents which were revealed on November 14, and obtained by Us Weekly, show that in a group chat from January 5, 2024, consisting of actor Travis Van Winkle, musician Andy Grammer and It Ends With Us producer Jamey Heath, Rainn has allegedly suggested that the the 41-year-old actor and director of It Ends With Us had been "set up."
These text messages became public when Justin;s defense filed them in court as supporting evidence.
The message thread shows the 59-year-old actor and comedian asking for updates, prompting the Jane The Virgin star to share the fiery discussion he had with Ryan Reynolds.
"Ryan was talking to me like a five-year-old and scolding me," he stated.
"They essentially said that Jamey and I are not who we claimed to be and that for us to have a podcast is unsafe because it makes people feel like we are safe."
Justin then opened up about being accused of being "creepy" towards the Gossip Girl alum, describing the ordeal as “one of the hardest nights of my life.”
"I was emotionally paralyzed. It was as bad as it sounds,” he expressed and then appreciated those who were supporting him in the group chat.
Rainn Wilson reportedly sent a supportive message to Justin Baldoni?
In response to Five Feet Apart director’s messages, Rainn seemingly insisted he had been "set up and ambushed."
"Oh my God. I can’t believe it. You were set up and ambushed and personally attacked. I’m stunned. I completely relate to you being stunned, like a deer in the Headlights,” he wrote. “Probably better that you didn’t immediately. Just start apologizing. So grateful that Jamey is your partner, and could step in diplomatically as needed.”
Concluding his message, saying, "Onwards brother. Make a great and important and entertaining piece of storytelling. That’s all you can do now. So sorry for what you went through.”
When did Blake Lively file a lawsuit against co-star Justin Baldoni?
In December 2024, Blake officially filed a lawsuit against Justin, producer Heath, studio chief Steve Sarowitz and their publicists. The case is expected to go to trial in March 2026.
