Father of 10 Eddie Murphy hilariously responds to Nick Cannon comparisons

Eddie Murphy takes pride in his big family.

He and his first wife, Nicole, who divorced in 2006 after 13 years of marriage share five grown children together.

The 64-year-old actor has since expanded his family with three children from previous relationships and two more with wife Paige Butcher.

During his chat with People, the Beverly Hills Cop actor opened up about being a father to a total of 10 kids, with their age ranging from 6 to 36.

"It just happened,” he remarked.

Continuing, "I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it’s the best thing ever. If you can afford that many kids, you should have as many kids as you can afford. That is fun."

Eddie went on to address Nick Cannon being a father to 12 children by claiming he never offered any advice or parenting tips to him.

"I've never talked to Nick. I didn't give him any parenting advice," he stated.

The Pickup actor then humorously added, "People always say, 'Nick Canon, he got, like, 12 kids,'" referring to the comparisons made between them, adding, "I didn't have that many when I was that young. God bless him."
