Katy Perry sparks response from Justin Trudeau’s ex as their romance heats up

Katy Perry’s budding romance with Justin Trudeau leads his ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire, to finally break her silence.

On Wednesday, November 12, the 50-year-old former partner of the Canadian Prime Minister appeared on the podcast Arlene is Alone, where she was asked how she is handling Justin’s new relationship.

"We’re human beings and stuff affects us," Sophie said.

She added, "How you react to stuff is your decision, so I choose to try to listen to the music instead of the noise.”

The mom of three noted, "I’m very aware that a lot of public stuff out there can be triggers; the woman I become through this is my decision."

Sophie also seemed unfazed by Justin’s ongoing romance with Katy, saying she is currently dedicating her energy to personal growth after her highly publicised divorce from the politician.

This statement comes after Justin started dating Katy in July 2025, after being first spotted in Montreal, Canada.

It is worth noting that Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire, who parted ways in 2023, share three children: Xavier, Hadrien, and Ella-Grace.
